Gonzalo Grau
A Berklee College Summa Cum Laude graduate, Gonzalo has established himself as a multi-instrumentalist, composer, producer and arranger.
He leads two projects of his own, "Plural" and "La Clave Secreta", Grammy nominated for Best Tropical Album.
Some of his productions include "West Side Story" with the Labeque sisters (Choc the Classica), Golijov's "La Pasión según San Marcos" (ECHO award 2010), "México" with Rolando Villazón (ECHO award 2011), and Nazareno with Katia and Marielle Labeque, released by Deutsche Grammophon.
Wearing his composer and arranger hat, his achievements include composition collaborations alongside Osvaldo Golijov for the opera "Ainadamar" and "La Pasión". Original works include “Pregunta y Respuesta” (Atlanta Symphony), “Café con Pan”, (Chicago Symphony), “Nazareno” (Katia & Marielle Labeque), “Aqua” (Bach Academy International - European Composer Award 2011), “Viaje (Boston Landmarks Orchestra), “Fantasía de Guayaba Habanera” (Johnny Gandelsman and the Community MusicWorks), “Five-legged-cat” (Brooklyn Rider), among many others.
In 2019, Gonzalo was nominated to the Grammy Awards in the category of Best Arrangement Instrumental and Vocals.
