Boston-based trombonist Michael Prentky takes pride in his great musicality, professionalism, reliability, and cordiality. Michael attended New England Conservatory for his Bachelor's degree in Jazz Performance on trombone while completing their Music-In-Education program and a Master’s Degree in Performance there. He has been a freelance trombonist and educator in Boston for 10 years.

Michael most actively performs with and manages Mozambican funk band Kina Zoré, but also plays with Balkan-influenced group Sarma Brass Band, musical pit orchestras, jazz groups, wedding bands, and appears on many albums as a studio musician.

Michael has taught people from ages 5 to 85, in private lessons and group classes. He teaches trumpet, trombone, tuba, euphonium, general music, improvisation, music theory, composition, and arranging. In lessons, students build a strong foundation in instrumental technique and apply that to learning music that is most exciting to them.
